Simple Guacamole Recipe
Looking for a super simple, basic, and healthy guacamole recipe? Here you go. A perfect combination of sweet and salty, just a bit of sour, and the best consistency for spreading and dipping.
Ingredients
1 whole avocado
sea salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp raw honey
Juice from 1 large or 2 small limes or lemons
2 tsp natural Worcestershire sauce
How To Make
Cut your avocado in half. Take the seed out. Scoop the fruit into a deep dish.
Add the dry seasoning (sea salt and pepper) to taste. I use about 1tsp of each.
Add half of your flavour seasonings (honey, citrus, and Worcestershire sauce).
Mash with a fork until 75% smooth.
Taste test, then add remaining flavour seasoning/sea salt/pepper.
Chill for at least 30 minutes, then serve!
Notes
The proportions of this recipe completely depend on two things: the size of your avocado, and the texture of the avocado (some avocados are more buttery, and some are more watery). Depending on yours, the amount of honey and lime/lemon juice may vary,
Hold off on any mashing until you’ve added all of your ingredients - this will yield a better consistency. If this is your first time making this, I would suggest adding half of all of the seasoning and flavour ingredients, mash, taste, and then add more in order to get to an overall taste that you enjoy.
Only use honey that is raw/unpasteurized, and preferably local (support your local businesses who are doing good things!).
This recipe doesn’t call for any garlic or onion. You really don’t need it. However, feel free to add as an optional flavour.
