Athletic training to make sure you move & perform better.

We help you go from nagging pain, frustrating footwork, and wasted effort — to moving explosively, recovering faster, and building a body that lasts for the long haul.

COMMON MOVEMENT PERFORMANCE CHALLENGES

Hard problems we're solving for you.

Increase strength and stamina. Gain functional mobility. Improve footwork, speed, and agility. Upgrade your hand-eye coordination. Age better. As an athletic movement agency serving clients across North America, Athletic Engineering can help you move efficiently, play better, and get more from your sports performance training. Our goal is to help you get the best possible ROI on a durable, well-functioning body so that it lasts a lifetime.

Whether you want to perform at a higher level in your sport or simply maintain your athleticism as you age, your training should prepare your body for the way you actually want to move. Our athleticism training programs don’t just focus on performance in the gym. They also hone in on developing physical qualities that translate to sport, recreation, and everyday movement.

"How do I build athleticism?"

"How many times a week should I train agility?"

"What is the best form of functional training?"

"Should youth athletes strength train?"

“How can I stay athletic as I get older?”

PERFORMANCE-SPECIFIC TRAINING SOLUTIONS

We want you to succeed in your sport.

We constantly look at the issues confronting our clients from fresh perspectives in order to find creative, diverse solutions to your problems. Whether you're a professional athlete or the parent of an upcoming athlete, a former competitor, or simply someone who wants to keep moving and performing well as you age, we believe in affordability and only focus on efficient approaches that get results.

Our performance training for athletes is not a one-size fits-all formula. It's built around the individual. We look at how you move, the demands you place on your body, and where greater strength, mobility, coordination, or efficiency could improve your performance and longevity.

Professional athletes

We specialize in helping professional athletes and their teams achieve career-high performance goals without sacrificing durability or sustainability. Our sports performance training helps develop athletic qualities that transfer to competition while supporting a long, healthy career.

Emerging athletes & parents/coaches

As you focus on achieving peak performance, we help you develop movement efficiency and injury resilience, to give you a robust competitive edge. Our approach to athletic strength training prioritizes developing a capable, adaptable athlete, not simply lifting more weight.

Mature & former athletes

We redefine aging for you so that you don't have to curtail your intensity and activity level as you age. We help you move better with a regenerative approach. You don't have to be a competitive athlete to train like longevity matters. We help active adults preserve strength, mobility, coordination, and confidence so they can keep participating in the sports and activities they enjoy.

ATHLETIC MOVEMENT SERVICES

Athletic training focused on performance and longevity.

We take the pressure off of physical preparation, so you can focus on what you do best—playing your sport. Our approach brings together athletic strength training, mobility, coordination, agility, and explosiveness to help you build a more complete and durable body.

Rather than chasing isolated performance metrics, your performance trainer considers how these qualities work together. The goal is better movement and physical preparation that supports both immediate performance and long-term athleticism.

Individual Athletes

We work with athletes who show a high level of commitment, maturity, and self-driven attitude.

Services offered to individual athletes include customized training plans and regimens, injury consultations, and slow-motion video analysis.

Primarily, we work with athletes virtually, using a combination of live Zoom sessions with customized monthly training regimens on AETV (see final bullet in this list). We operate in the Atlantic Time Zone (AST/ADT).

When feasible, we also work in-person with athletes on a 1:1 basis within Atlantic Canada.

Teams

We are able to work with teams of up to 20 athletes, as long as there is a commitment by the team to focus on training during regular practice hours each week of in-season/pre-season time.

Team training can include team-centric training plans or customized plans per athlete, with focus on performance (and rehabilitation, when injuries are present). Programs include video instruction and demonstration, with movement progressions tailored to each athlete's starting point. Athlete programs are securely delivered using AETV, and athletes can ask questions and submit video checks for feedback on an ongoing basis. Active People (Former or Non Athletes)

We are very committed to helping anyone use their body to experience an active life, whether you are a competitive athlete or not. We work with people who want to move better and feel better in a sport (not necessarily in pursuit of competition), or who just want to experience a level of freedom and access to effortless movement regardless of their stage of life.

Sports Organizations & Commissions

We work with sports organizations, government agencies, sports task forces, and non-profit groups to define and enhance their athlete development programs and strategic planning. Our expertise is in helping organizations ensure that each athlete is fully supported for long-term physical and mental health, regardless of the level of competition. Injury Practitioners & Clinicians

We consult with healthcare practitioners to provide expertise in movement-based rehabilitation for therapeutic care plans.

Slow-Motion Video Analysis

Using video analysis, we identify areas of weakness (and opportunity) in an athlete's structure and the way their body behaves in motion. Based on foundational movement efficiency and structural balance, this type of analysis is a tool to critically identify and inform improvements to movement technique, allowing athletes to use less energy while they play, and recover better on and off the court/field.
